Concerning the AI Conundrum — Let's Talk Realities

1. Bottom Line: There is no such thing as a 100% AI-generated song in the Syncreatus Sounds of Faith catalog.

 

2. I (a lifelong Christian) write every song's lyrics. AI writes none.

 

3. AI does not alter, change, or replace any of my original lyrics unless I explicitly authorize it.

 

4. AI generates and proposes voice and music variants for my lyrics, which I must personally evaluate and approve. Without my approval, there is no song.

 

5. I define the creative direction—including the artist style, vocal qualities, musical genres, instruments, song stylings, and overall feel for each specific track.

 

6. I frequently reject hundreds of AI-generated variations for a single set of lyrics before settling on one that meets my standards. In some cases, I have rejected over 500 proposed variants before achieving the desired result.

 

7. My rigorous standard is proven by the numbers: In less than two years, I have generated over 12,330 song variations on Suno and approved only 250 to 300 completed titles. This represents roughly a 1-in-41 (approx. 2.4%) acceptance rate, demonstrating the high level of human curation required for every release.

 

8. The fact is, for any artist with high standards who takes on such a calling as I have, AI creation is neither effortless nor sacrifice-free.

 

The claim that AI music requires no effort or sacrifice ignores creators like myself. Broadly focusing on those who misuse technology to generate low-effort digital noise in pursuit of quick financial gain reflects a lack of awareness regarding dedicated artists. When creators driven by genuine intent are lumped together with casual users, we enter the music production world unfairly stigmatized and competitively handicapped.

 

For an individual driven by inner artistic fire who employs technological tools to fulfill their calling, the process demands personal commitment, discipline, vision, endurance, financial resources, and sacrifice—the very hallmarks of all true creative endeavors.

 

For me, pursuing this work as a Christian Music Lyricist has been a non-stop labor of love. It has involved countless sleepless nights, ongoing operating expenses, painstaking trial and error, unceasing prayer for guidance, minimal external encouragement, and a meticulous commitment to quality through a long sequence of rejections before a single track is approved.

 

Beyond the work itself, artists face the social stigma often assigned when one uses AI technology. In The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne bore the letter "A"; today, creators using these tools often carry the label "AI" as a broad indictment. Operating under this forced, ill-defined label creates a persistent obstacle to how our music is perceived and evaluated.

 

Yet, AI remains a vital tool. It enables a 78-year-old poet turned lyricist (and former musician)—managing progressive neuropathy, arthritis in both hands, deteriorating vision and hearing, diabetes, and a heart condition—to fulfill his commitment to God to create scripturally sound music that lifts spirits and encourages fellow believers.

 

10. RE: Money. I am not creating Christian music for money or financial gain. I am producing God-honoring music in response to what I believe is God's call. I charge no fees, and never request payment for any of my music. 

 

11. RE: Fame. I am not in this for fame, notoriety or attention. I am too old to waste whatever precious time I have left trying to fulfill some kind of ego-trip or seeking accolades from adoring fans. I create and produce God-honoring music in answer to what I believe is God's call. Nothing more.

 

12. Every finished Christian song I produce belongs to God. 

 

13. And so does any glory that may be the end result of one or more of my songs.
